The Situation
Southern Shield Roofing had a website built in 2018 that had never been touched since launch. The owner knew it was "bad" but didn't realize how much business it was actively costing him. Our audit revealed:
  • 9.2-second page load time on mobile — Google's threshold for bounce is 3 seconds
  • PageSpeed score of 14/100 on mobile — images uncompressed, scripts blocking render, no caching
  • Homepage had 6 competing CTAs with no hierarchy — visitors didn't know what to do first
  • Contact form was buried on page 5 of the navigation
  • Zero local SEO — no Google Business Profile link on site, no schema, no geo-targeted content
  • 3 service pages were blocked from indexing by a robots.txt error
What We Built
We rebuilt the entire website in 21 days — not a template refresh, a complete ground-up redesign. Here's the full scope:
  • Rebuilt in WordPress with Elementor Pro — compressed and WebP-converted all images, eliminated render-blocking scripts, implemented caching and CDN
  • New homepage with a single primary CTA above the fold: "Get a Free Roof Inspection" — with phone number and short 3-field form visible without scrolling
  • Created 9 dedicated service pages: Roof Replacement, Repair, Storm Damage, Insurance Claims, and 5 location-specific landing pages (Orlando, Kissimmee, Winter Park, Sanford, Altamonte Springs)
  • Wrote conversion-focused copy for every page with embedded social proof: photo testimonials, BBB badge, license number, years in business
  • Implemented LocalBusiness, Roofing Service, and Review schema markup on all pages
  • Fixed the robots.txt error blocking 3 pages from being indexed
  • Added click-to-call buttons on mobile and installed GA4, Tag Manager, and heatmaps for 30-day post-launch analysis
The Outcome
The new site launched with a PageSpeed score of 92/100 on mobile and a 1.8-second load time — a 5× improvement. In the first 30 days, organic traffic increased 44%. The conversion rate from visitor to lead went from 0.9% to 4.1% — a 4.5× improvement. In the 90 days following launch, inbound leads went from 14/month to 52/month on effectively the same traffic. The click-to-call button alone was responsible for 31% of all mobile conversions in the first month.
